Hi,
So the Smooth Cruise was more fun than I had even anticipated. I just want to say a quick hello to all the new (and old) friends that I met and thank you for being so nice to my family and me.
I knew that we would enjoy all the destinations and the vacation part of the cruise but what I think I really ended up enjoying the most was all of the great music that I was able to listen to and participate in. All of the musicians really got into the spirit of us all being on board and there were a lot of unexpected, unscheduled guests in everyones sets. A lot of really cool musical moments occured because of that. I really looking forward to next year's cruise to see what surprises develope then.
Right now I'm on tour playing in Rod Stewart's band. It's a blast to hang out with my old friends and play these songs again. (plus a whole new set of songs in the "American Songbook" portion of the show.) Rod and the band sound great and if you're a fan I highly recommend that you come to a show. But if you're coming to hear me play guitar I suggest that you wait until the summer and come to one of the "Guitars and Saxes" shows. Rod has so many hits that he has to squeeze into his show that there really isn't time for me to stretch out very much (most of the audience is coming to hear their favorite Rod Stewart songs, not listen to extended Jeff Golub jams). But as I said, if you're a Rod fan, ( which I am by the way), I'm sure that you'll enjoy the show.
Speaking of the "Guitars and Saxes" tour, this year looks like it's going to be a pretty rockin' show.
Euge Groove's show brought the house down everynight on the cruise and of course Warren is always slammin'. Also Marc has a great new CD out that I look forward to hearing him play live.
So anyway I hope to see you out on the road at one of these upcoming shows, if not a few.
All the best,
