I have really enjoyed this album very much- it is my favorite album that Jeff has done. Sounds like a Strat on just about everything on this record- keep playing the Strat, Jeff- it sounds great! Sean <Dtonators@aol.com> Rutherford, NJ USA - Thursday, August 23, 2001 at 14:15:43 (PDT) I've got Miles, Robbin Ford, Steely Dan, etc. in my car's CD player; I keep coming back to Out of the Blue over and over again. Just quality, listenable music. And, being a bassist, having most of the CD ancored by Tony Levin is a real treat. Mark <Soundmark56@hotmail.com> Denver, Co USA - Saturday, July 14, 2001 at 09:27:16 (PDT) A suberb piece of work! Jeff's mixture of smooth and belting guitar licks on "Indiana Moon", and "Wanna Funk" are better than most Clapton, Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray, or Jimmy Page ones you'll ever hear! "Velvet Touch" is a suberb composition with a mixture of intense guitar and subtle horn overlays----I could listen to this on an 'endless loop' for hours and always hear and feel something new every time I listen to it. "Lucky Strike" is intense with some soulful sax playing by Kirk Whalum. The drum programming on "Paradise Lost" is interesting and blends good for the audiophile. Overall, a 'must have' CD for anyone wanting GREAT guitar intensity, smooth jazz, R & B, rock and almost as good as Jeff's "Dangerous Curves". Thanks for sharing your talent with all of us, Jeff, and keep up the GREAT work! You make your guitar 'sing', 'laugh', 'cry', and 'climax'! Saludos, Your friends, Michael and Beverly ; ) : ) P.S.: We are playing "Atlanta Nights" as one of the Prelude songs for our upcoming wedding, July 7th----we 'owe-you-one', Jeff. Michael C. Mary Samuels Tulsa, OK USA - Friday, April 07, 2000 at 19:36:38 (PDT) Hey Jeff, I saw Avenue Blue sometime last year recording tracks at the Dark Horse Cafe on 72nd Street in Manhattan. The band was really smokin'! (Jeff Levine on Hammond Organ is an unbeatable combination!). Is that CD available in stores, or can I purchase it directly through you??? If you could let me know one way or another (as the song goes!), I'd greatly appreciate it. Look forward to hearing from you soon. There are no songs I want to skip, and it *really* flows. And what fun to hear Manteca! That really surprised me - and it gave me a whole new perspective on Rick Braun, whose music I don't know as well as I now want to. :-) Very cool, that was an inspired selection, I think; is Dizzy one of your favorite artists? Congratulations on a great CD, and I'm really looking forward to the day when I get to see you play live! All the best. Last month, a fellow musician recommended that I purchase "Out of the Blue" by Mr. Golub. Suffice it to say that I am more than impressed. The solos are energetic and quite exceptional. All in all, an outstanding cd. In the past few weeks, I have managed to purchase all four of Mr. Golub's cds. The overall musicality is awesome; in fact, some of the octave passages contained throughout are among the cleanest and most innovative I've heard in many a moon. Messrs. Ritenour, Montgomery, Laury, and Benson would be duly impressed. Best wishes! I won't be exaggerating by saying that this is among the best music available in the nineties! I would be vert glad if anyone could tell me about other artist who play the same kind of music and (if there is one) a genre name. regards, mads Mads Schjoelin <m_s@adr.dk> Maaloev, Denmark - Thursday, July 29, 1999 at 08:39:55 (EDT) I just purchased "Out of the Blue" and it is a great piece of work. I have been wishing that Jeff would do a CD under his name and have waited since I purchased the first Avenue Blue CD. Believe me...it was worth the wait. I am listening to the cut Indiana Moon right now...one of my favorites. It sounds great with the sound coming from my big Snell A's! My call..BUY THIS CD NOW! You can't underestimate the fluidity of his playing, he is doing some amazing things on the guitar. The change in his line-up of Ferrone and Levin brings quite a creative energy to his sound, although nothing compares to his live performances. the oddist Cleveland, Oh USA - Friday, June 25, 1999 at 05:47:45 (EDT) "Groanin' " and "Do You Wanna Funk Some More", groovin! Greg McKee Cleveland, Oh USA - Sunday, May 23, 1999 at 08:30:08 (EDT) I find that Jeff's new project jam's tastefully, somewhat different from his 'Avenue' records which is okay by me.
