Well spring is in the air
and I’m loving it! For me, this is the payback for
putting up with months of cold weather and barren trees
we have in New York. It’s invigorating to watch
everything come alive again.
The Guitars and Saxes 2007 tour
has been even more fun than I anticipated. We worked out
most of the arrangements for the show all together as a
band rather than just adopting what we each play in our
individual shows and the result has made for some
totally fresh music that makes it really exciting for of
us to play. Once again I’m touring this year with:
Tim Bowman also on
guitar
Kirk Whalum on Tenor and Soprano sax
Gerald
Albright on Alto Sax
with
Ricky Lawson on
Drums
Nate Phillips on bass
Marlon McClean on
Rhythm guitar and
Arlington Jones on Keyboards
If you see that we’re playing near you please
come out and say hi.
I’m so happy that my new CD
“Grand Central” has been well received. This is a very
personal CD to me so it obviously makes me feel good
when people like it. Suzy has set up links to a lot of
really nice reviews. If you get a minute, please check
them out. Or better yet, just pick up a copy of the CD
and make up your own mind. Words rarely do an adequate
job of describing music anyway.
Well I hope you have
a great Spring and Summer!
All the
best,
